Once upon a farm.

Since setting up the Facebook page for Grove Farm , there have been far less blog posts, however work and Facebook updates have been going on steadily none the less !   The awful weather outside today has driven me down through the "things-to-do-inside-on-a-wet-day" list to "Update blog" so here we go...

Once upon a time...

...the skies were still blue and children really played outside ...

The lower walled field at Grove Farm

Fathers tended the garden...

Cherry laurel removal with a chainsaw while on abseil. Scary!

And mothers made chocolate cakes ...

Lundy helping !

The world seemed like a magical place and everything was much bigger than it is today.

Giant chair at Vogrie Park
Not quite my old KTM 200 !

It was a time when strange creatures flew in the air...

The birthday welly flinging competition

...and hidden treasures could be found by those that sought them...

Willows birthday treasure hunt

...although not all things found had an obvious immediate use !

Recycled pub windows !

It was a time when help was often forthcoming, sometimes from strangers...

Paul and "the golden haired man" from www.plaster-crafts.com

sometimes from family...

Peter in "out-of-office" mode !

Sam preparing for next winter!

...and sometimes from an even Greater Power ! ;-)

Dad bringing the tractor back to life !

Although the road was long (and painting it seemed even longer) ...

kids bedroom refurbishment
 ...blocked with raging rivers...

Looking upriver from the icehouse
 ...inhabited by obscene monsters...

Phallus impudicus
...the goal was discovered eventually (after ten hard weeks of building!)

"Who likes the new bedroom?" "ME!"

However, (as is always the way),  the goal proved to be just yet another bend in the road.

There were other castles to conquer...

The big 300 sqm barn to be flattened next

...ideally using the most powerful of weapons...

Quake 3 montage created on a wet indoor day !

... but more usually with whatever came to hand...
There were a LOT of screws to take out !

...and perseverance...

"Give me strength!"
It was a time of  cockatrice...

"Coral" the new chicken
...witches ...

Willow, friend Holly , Lundy
...and other creatures of the night !

Trick or treat !
The land was strewn with bones...

Now that really was a big shed!
...and there was terrible destruction visited upon the inhabitants !

Waiting for the last occupants to leave. Pigeons !

Desolation was all around...

A garden of concrete delight !

and the monsters were brought crashing to the ground...
The coup-de-grace !

...so traditional  rites of celebration could be performed.

Bonfire night- first ever sparklers!
Dreams of a better life could then be imagined...

Initial treehouse plan
...plans created...

all my own work !
...and  practical realities confidently confronted !

Final site for treehouse construction decided !

The future had lots of excitement in store...

ooooh, thats just what I need next !

...and  (hopefully) they all lived happily ever after !

First day of Primary2

The End

 >>>

So, hang onto your hats and if you cant... then just jam it on your head !
